John Curtis (b. May 10, 1960, in Salt Lake City, Utah) is a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives representing Utah's 3rd Congressional District. He defeated Kathie Allen (D) in the special election on November 7, 2017, to replace U.S. Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R) in Utah's 3rd Congressional District. Curtis graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in business management. Before becoming mayor of Provo, Utah, in 2010, Curtis was the chief executive officer and partner at Action Target Company, which manufactures shooting range equipment. He was re-elected in 2013 with 86 percent of the vote. Curtis has six children with wife Sue. Curtis has served as the mayor of Provo, Utah, since 2010.
